Skellies: an RPG of goofs, liches, and skeletal buffoonery

Created by The Griffon's Saddlebag

Skellies is a gravely unserious d6 RPG where you play as risen skeletons in a lich's thrall. Your undead purpose is simple: use your Bones, Brains, and Goofs to make your lich's immortality as great as possible! And relax, you're already dead.

Late Pledge options are coming soon!

Hey everyone!

I wanted to get a super quick update out here so folks can know that I'm working on getting the pledge manager up and running as quickly as I can—as soon I have it ready, you can jump in and get your late pledges a la carte!

Thank you all so much for the emails and comments asking about late backing options. I'm working hard to get them ready for you, so just hang tight! If you're following the campaign, I'll be sure to send an email out to let you know when it's ready for you!

Talk more soon!

Happy Halloween! A final push!

Hey everyone!

Thank you all so much for this great support. Skellies is a game that was in my heart, and I wanted to have on my personal shelf. I am so glad that it's speaking to so many of you with the same excitement that I feel for it.

I'm making great progress on final touches for the accessories, and making sure that the prototypes are the quality that I want to send to you. So far, so good, and I'm having a blast with it.

I don't have a lot to offer here in terms of updates, other than repeating what I mentioned in another comment, which is that I have a few more Liches and Lairs zines planned (like the already available Old Macdonald's Menagerie of the Undead). They'll be available on the Backerkit Pledge Manager once they're ready! I don't have an ETA for them, but the writing is finished on two of them already!

Since we're coming up on the final hours, and Halloween (!), now could be a good time to share the skellies.rip Backerkit link with any of your friends that you think would enjoy the game!

That's all I've got for now—again, thank you all so much for the support and excitement. It makes a huge difference!

Talk soon!

An awesome week!

Hey everyone!

Thank you all so much for a great welcome to RPG design space. Feedback has been overwhelmingly kind and enthusiastic, and I get so energized by your interest and excitement. I genuinely have so much fun working on Skellies stuff.

A special shoutout and thank you, too, to folks that caught typos or had rules questions! Your feedback helps me/us collectively get this game as polished as humanly (undeadly?) possible. You can always send me an email at [email protected].

I had some prototypes on my desk and wanted to snap a picture of them. The only thing that's particularly unexplored here is the reverse sides of the Extra Dead Edition's bonus dust cover. The side you'll see when opening up your deluxe box will be an extension of the typical cover art, but this will be there as a fun alternative!

When coming up with this idea, I was reminded of the fun reversible cover designs that some Switch cartridges have. And, since the box itself is already the Necronomicon, I thought a self-help book for an aspiring necromancer would be a perfect option!

This is the side you'll see when opening up your box:

Some folks have been tagging me on Instagram (@the_griffons_saddlebag) with reviews or sharing the game, too. That is ultra cool. I will happily reshare, obviously! Feel free to share it wherever, of course—if I'm also on the platform, tag me!

That's all for now! Thanks again for the great reception this week: I can't wait to get it to your hands!
